Comparative study of Waste management in Velenje and Velika Gorica

Waste management system of Velenje is largely adapted to the requirements of directives on EU waste management, and is therefore an excellent example in which direction the development of waste management system in Velika Gorica should go. Therefore, the project partners in project IMBY will perform a comparative study of waste management, which will compare the existing systems in the Velika Gorica and Velenje, as well as some other cities of similar size and characteristics in Slovenia, Croatia and other EU countries. The study will also propose an optimal direction for further development of the waste management system, both in Velika Gorica, as well as in Velenje, where in spite of excellent results, there is still potential for further improvement.
